Coaching vs. Therapy

Is this therapy?

No. While I am a U.S.-trained Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my work in London is offered as coaching, not psychotherapy. Coaching focuses on support, skill-building, reflection, and personal growth. It is not a substitute for mental health treatment or clinical therapy.

If a person requires therapeutic or psychiatric care, I am happy to help identify appropriate local resources.


What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Therapy typically focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions. Coaching is future-oriented and centers on personal development, values reflection, adjustment, resilience, and navigating life transitions.

My coaching approach draws on evidence-based principles, but sessions are structured as coaching conversations rather than clinical treatment.
